The week was flying by far too fast and every moment Megan spent with Michael made it harder for her to bear the thought of leaving him.

At some point she decided not to think about it, to pretend like there was no limitation on their time.

By their yachting day, their third day of activities together, she had adjusted to being chauffeured everywhere in a Rolls Royce, and being able to order whatever she wanted to eat and have it freshly prepared for her in his suite. She had even gotten used to the sight of his chef and butler.

She was also a shade or two darker, having been outside most of the past three days, and looked forward to their shopping day the next day, ready to take a break from sun and ocean.

He had bought things for her already—bags of swimsuits and casual-wear had shown up Wednesday morning for their scuba and yachting days, filled with bikinis and shorts, sandals and sunglasses, sundresses and halter tops.

Once she had picked out an outfit for that day and the next, he had asked, “Those are the only ones that fit?”

“No, you figured out my size pretty well.”

“Do you not like the style of the others?”

“Well, yeah! I just thought…”

“They’re all yours to keep, Megan. If you like it and it fits, it’s yours. Even if it doesn’t fit, we’ll get the right size.”

“I just figured since there’s just a few days left…”

The look on his face stopped her.

She couldn’t identify exactly what was going on behind his serious expression, but something told her to drop the protests.

She smiled shyly at him. “Thank you,” she said softly.

“My pleasure,” he said. “Now go on and tuck those away. There’s more coming. We need to get you some evening wear.”

Megan figured that’s what they would do on their official shopping day.

Once Friday arrived, she couldn’t imagine actually shopping the whole day, so she wondered what else he had planned.

He had only said they would pick up a few things—any souvenirs she had in mind and evening dresses for his plans later—but he took her around to jewelry places as well.

When she looked at him in surprise as they entered the first one, he shrugged.

“We’re going to get you a fabulous dress and not accessorize it? Come on, Megan.”

By the end of the day, she had several stunning dresses to choose from for their evening date because every time her eyes got stuck on one, he made her try it on, and if she couldn’t hide her love for it, he bought it. Even when she started to feel guilty and had fallen in love with another dress after they had already bought several, he wouldn’t give in to her pretense at indifference.

“No, seriously, this one’s just okay. I don’t think…”

“But I love you in it, so it’s yours.”

A few times, she caught him looking at her in a certain way, a way that made her heart flutter too much, a way that filled her chest with too much warmth, a way that pushed her even closer to him.
